Hi Lillian!
Knowing when we're put in the spotlight we often have a tendency to not remember what was said, we wanted to send you what was written and read last night about Beautify Bonney Lake.
Congratulations on your selection as one of Sumner Bonney Lake Community Summit Unsung Heroes!
BEAUTIFY BONNEY LAKE
Who can mobilize a team of 550 volunteers in one day for the benefit of the community? That would be this non-profit organization. Founded in 2004, the vision was to work together with the city and local businesses to improve the visual appeal of the city of Bonney Lake. After a mere two months of work by the newly-formed leadership team, this organization's first event was held with 200 volunteers. In 2005, 300 volunteers came out and more locations were added around the city. They were awarded non-profit status shortly thereafter and each year the event grows. Volunteers from churches, the senior center, businesses and other organizations come out to be a part of this amazing movement. Students involved in service clubs, sports teams, and others who care about the community rally for the cause. In addition, homeowner's associations and residents in housing developments get on board to clean around common areas and businesses are encouraged to do the same. Community pride brings about community caring, mutual respect, and neighbors working together. The people that make up this organization have a true partnership with all of the community as it invests in future generations.
